You are not alone anymore!
Beginning therapy can be intimidating. Whether it is your first or tenth time, I will see you and walk with you on this journey to reach your potential. I will listen to you without judgment, so anything you bring to the safe therapy space is fair game.
We will work together to reach your goals, even if you are not sure what your goals are yet. The negative thoughts, debilitating anxiety, self-judgment, fear of failure, intrusive thoughts, procrastination, and all other challenges that make you feel isolated can be overcome permanently!
Challenges will become manageable!
A client once told me our sessions felt like a warm hug. What a compliment!
My goal is to make you feel seen, heard, and safe, allowing you to explore everything holding you back. We will work together to develop coping skills to manage challenges, which you can use long after completing our work.
You will learn mindfulness techniques, which everyone talks about, but I have many more that you probably have not heard of. I may even teach you a bit of neurology if it is appropriate.
You will find inner peace!
In addition to learning coping skills to manage daily challenges and life’s ups and downs, we will explore deeply how those challenges became what they are.
I will help you rewire your mindset, allowing you to feel confident and safe in the world instead of on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
About Me

How did I get here?
I have always had an interest in therapy and human behavior. I went to therapy as a teenager and sat with a woman who just looked at me and never really engaged. Psychoanalytic, I suppose, but I hated it, and I thought there had to be a better way to help people.
From that point in my life, I have learned as many therapeutic theories and methods as possible to help people genuinely make a difference in their lives. And yes, there are many better ways to help people than the psychologist I had as a teenager. You will never find me passively looking at you and not engaging!
Here’s a little about my education.
I went to St. Mary’s and earned a degree in psychology. Then, I continued at St Mary’s, completing all the classes for a master’s in psychology.
Before doing the internships, I decided I wanted a doctoral degree in psychology, so I switched gears and went to JFK University to get my Psy.D., a doctorate in clinical psychology.
I began in private practice in 2004 and have not looked back.
Take a peek behind the curtain.
When I am not working, I love to cook, go out to eat, read, take walks/hikes, go to the theater, and play with my dogs.
My happy place is Lake Tahoe, especially in the summer, because I love to be on the water, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, and even floating down the Truckee River.
